Laid up in the Pacific Reserve Fleet, San Diego Group.
Struck from the Naval Register - March 8, 2004.
Transferred to the Maritime Administration (MARAD) for disposal.
Planned transfer to Taiwan in FY 2005.

Will  replace ROCS Chung Cheng (ex-USS Comstock / LSD 19).
