The Vivaldi Class or also Navigatori II patrol vessels, also known
by their PPX project name, represent a class of light multirole
naval units of the Italian Navy designed to replace the patrol
vessels of the Cassiopea class (4 units) and the Cassiopea II class
(2 units). The program, which provides for the possibility of having up to 10 PPX, is structured in several phases: 4 units under construction from 2024 to 2030/2032 while 2 are already financed but have yet to be contracted. The expansion from 6 to 10 units is part of the broader twenty-year program of modernization and expansion of the Italian Navy. |
