FGS Augsburg (F 222):

 

 

Early on the night of May 9th, 1975, in Skagerrak and during NATO exercise Bright Horizon, Augsburg was involved in a collision with the Polish merchant ship Professor Bohdanowicz. Ship was badly damaged and had 4 injured sailors where after it limped home to Wilhelmshaven.

Went to a shipyard for repair from September 75 to November 76 and the cost ran up to 15 million D-Mark.
